Making a list of my favorite games of the decade so far was kind of easy. Making a list of my favorite films of this decade so far is the exact opposite. I’m a film buff. I’ll watch whatever is worth watching, while also discovering some hidden gems that deserve a little more attention. I’ve watched a lot of movies this decade that it was hard picking out what to rank high or low, or what films I liked the most to even include on the list. Well, it has finally been decided.
I may not have a list of favorite games of the Seventh Generation, but I can give you guys a list of my favorite games of this decade… so far. The criteria are as follows:
Just remember, these are my personal picks. If your favorite games are not anywhere on the list, that means I either haven’t played them or reluctantly booted them off the list while picking the candidates. Without further ado, these are my Top 10 Games of the 2010s decade… so far.
I may not have a gaming list for 2014, so taking its place this time is a music list. I managed to find some great songs that were released this year that are not hypocritical like Meghan Trainor’s “All About that Bass” or annoyingly repetitive like Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” that I never want to listen to them again. Most of these songs originated from movies since I’ve stopped listening to the radio for a long time, while others I’ve bumped into and liked a lot.
I’m actually glad that I rarely focused much on new games this year. Because of this, I focused more on movies and man, was this year amazing. It started out sort of strong, and it just kept bringing in great titles afterwards with its usual surprises. It’s basically the opposite of last year.
Because a Top 10 wouldn’t do it justice, I’ve decided to make a Top 14 because… why not? However, I am only naming films that originally came out this year, so technical 2013 releases like The Wind Rises or Under the Skin don’t qualify.
Hello, guys, CJF94 here. I hope you guys had a Merry Christmas. Well, it’s that time again where I reflect on my favorite things of the year. What better way to start than to talk about my favorite shows that have progressed as time went on. As I mentioned in my last post, I don’t watch as much TV as I used to, but with the shows I got into lately, I have a reason to switch to my cable box every now and then. Without further delay, here are my thoughts on these shows so far.
Boss fights are one of, if not, the best aspects in a video game, often testing a player’s skill and just being entertaining to play through. Sadly, like a lot of great things, they have their share of easily hated boss fights. I know a lot of people have done this type of list before and some of my picks won’t come as a surprise, but I have my share of bosses that I really disliked, whether it’s due to bad game design or they are just not fun. While I haven’t celebrated Valentine’s Day for years, there is always one thing I always love to show appreciation to and those are the romantic couples from movies, shows, comics, et cetera. Since I was young, there were certain times in which I watch a couple that made me think “they belong together” and I was always glued to my seat to see what happens next. I know Gexup did a list like this last year, but I felt like making this type of list. And yes, the title card also shows my honorable mentions. I started watching less TV when I was in high school due to some of my favorite shows declining in quality or being cancelled. However, starting in 2012, some shows began to capture my interest because of how good people say they are or are right up my alley. Today, I review my favorite shows that aired in 2013.
In contrast to videogames, in my opinion, 2013 was really disappointing when it came to film selections in comparison to last year. Most of the films I’ve watched were either okay or I just didn’t care for it. Even the selection of animated films this year was really mediocre and I didn’t bother to watch most of them because they did not interest me one bit and I heard some of them weren’t really worth it. And don’t get me started about the summer movie line-up.
On the bright side, however, there were at least some films this year that stood out to me to the most and that I really, really liked them. Today, I count down my Top 7 Films from 2013. Why Top Seven? Because it’s a luckier number than 13. Continue Reading
