Oni Island is COMPLETE…except for the boss. Boss is next part. Er, still nothing else to say.

Oh come on, I couldn’t have been the only one thinking that.
Mmm, I love thunder. Never been able to use the secret technique (that you get later), but thunder in general is just so freaking sweet.
We’re a little over halfway through the dungeon now. One more part of dungeon and then boss time. Not much else to say really. More stuff happens in the next part.
I don’t like you *glares*.
Here begins the Labyrinth Of Torment, a series of death courses and races in Oni Island. All races (to my knowledge) are mandatory, so don’t screw up unless you hoarded health items or have the string of beads. Thankfully I have both, because I fail a lot here (though one of the courses decides to fail too).
One of the longest/hardest dungeons in the game. Goodie. Oni Island and the boss will take up the remaining 5 parts in the recording. Here is the dash and entry into the base (…with a big cutscene in between).
Info: Oni Island’s approach is easy enough. And if you don’t make it in time for whatever reason, the game lets you try again. Once you get to the island, you’re welcomed by a series of death courses where you have to race a demon slip and then you die if you don’t make it (well, one of them glitched. You’ll see later). If you don’t have any beads, hoarding health items is a must just in case. There is a merchant, but backtracking can be a pain.
Bah, this is painful. I actually had to use a health item for this fight. But don’t worry, this guy will get his comeuppance *rolls up sleeves*…in about 5 parts. I’m usually good at this fight and bad at the other, but it seems to be switched here.
Well, still have a few cutscenes to get through, but the entire fight is in this video.
Info: Evil Rao is your typical small sub-boss like Waka. Jumps and runs around, sends firey swords at you, just trying to be as annoying as possible. Difference here is that Rao isn’t vulnerable for as long or as frequently and she has a dive-bomb attack (the bird enemies like the Crow Tengu also have this attack).
Watch if you want the plot. Otherwise nothing much happens after the first minute or so. Skip this if you want. Just escaping from the dragon (eeeeeeeeeeasy), talking to the king, Rao getting the Fox Rods, Otohime showing a vision, and running to the temple. Next part will have a sub-boss, and then it’ll be time for one of the longest dungeons in the game.
Ok, so this entire recording is nearly 2 hours long, so that’s roughly 8 videos. That should last a while. It’s made up of two dungeons (one completed here), two sub-bosses (one completed here), a brush technique, and a main boss. However, parts 1-3 will be uploaded day-after-day because part 2 is mostly cutscenes and travelling. I had a feeling that would happen, so I appologize. To make up for it, like I said, I’ll be uploading those faster and then do the rest on a typical rate. You guys chew on these videos while I go AMV with Possk.
Dragon: Easily the shortest and simplest dungeon in the game. Lots of scrolls, but none are difficult and you can avoid them anyways. It’s very pretty though. Good music too (bah, most of the music in this game is awesome anyways). There’s one lock and one puzzle, but neither are that tricky.
Tube Foxes: Again, easy. These guys (all 9 of them, but all pretty weak) can be frustrating though since they love to bounce around. Not a real threat though. The most annoying thing they can do is suck out all your ink in a matter of seconds.
Was so not planning to do this since it’s short, easy, and only one enemy. I just used this as an oppertunity to give updates, break up the nutshell narrating, and upload something for once. We have kennel duty shifts every few weeks for 2.5 days. I wake up at 5 am, get home at 7 pm, and go to bed at 11:30 pm. Ick. Also, I have more editing to do with Possk, so I won’t sit down to do the dragon and Oni Island until next week or whenever I get good progress with our finals collab (or I might do it next week or on the weekend so I’ll have lots of videos so I can edit with Possk without feeling guilty of leaving you guys high and dry).
And Easycap’s drivers decided to self-destruct for some reason. I played it yesterday and it worked fine, but I tried it today and the drivers were apparently damaged (says device manager) and didn’t detect it. Had to wipe out that thing and install the drivers again (and it’s a very pesky thing to install *kicks*).
Info: Catcall Tower…er…has a lot of cats? All you do is jump up a tower by wall-jumping the gold parts. You can’t die, there is only one enemy, if you fail here, you have my pity. Just be sure you have fish with you or else you’ll want to strangle that stupid cat. Oh, and the brush technique is perhaps the 2nd most useless in the game, but it’s pretty neat I guess.
Damn, I got my ass kicked here x__x. Perhaps I should’ve used a reflector or the stronger sword (wasn’t sure at that if you get it at this point, though in hindsight I think you can).
Ya, not sure about when the next part will be, though I do know what it will be. Requires a bit of playing, but it will be a very short part. It doesn’t help that I woke up with a cold on Saturday and have had a head throbbing with nose goo for days. I got my cough back too. And just to add, I’m leaving for Thanksgiving family stuff over the weekend (yes, Canadians have it in October).
Info: Blight isn’t hard (especially if you stockpile on health items), but is perhaps the most ANNOYING little bug in this game. His attacks happen in the blink of an eye and isn’t vulnerable for long, calling for mist spamming. When you hit him repeatedly or slash the glowing sword, it separates and leaves Goldnail open for a beat-up.
Well, not smoke exactly, but you get it. Gah, why does this game make me do all these drug references all at the same area? Well, the song isn’t about drugs, but lots of people associate it.
Miiiiiiiiiiiiiist! At last! Boss is coming up next, but I don’t know when I can record next. I woke up with a cold on Saturday.
