Raggs Tries Tokyo Jungle

Forgive the boring post-commentary. I’m the only awake one in the house, had a rough day at work, and my original commentary buggered up. Audio might’ve buggered up with my recording of Sly 4’s demo too (…that I recorded about a month ago), so I guess I have a lot of work ahead of me *sigh*. This was originally a 1 hour video, but I cut it down for time and how I REALLY don’t want to drag out post commentary.

Anyways, in this video I just got Tokyo Jungle, a low profile Japanese game based around survival. It has been 10 years after the “poofing” of mankind, leaving pets feral, zoo animals escaping, and all animals trying to survive. Your mission here is to hunt, defend yourself, make territory, and find a mate to bring out the next generation where the process starts again. You lose when your legacy ends with the death of your last offspring. It’s a very unique game that did very well in Japan and on Sept 25 came to North America. Getting good reviews here too, which makes me happy. It may be lacking in the audio and visual department, but for what it is, there is a lot to love.

Tokyo Jungle is available digital only on PSN for $15.

Raggs and Possk Play LIMBO (Audio)

Remember that promise I made about uploading stuff with Possk and I and our epic Canadaland adventure? Well, so it’s September…SO HERE’S SOME LIMBO!

Since my Fraps seems to hate Steam, I recorded audio only. If I knew better I would’ve at least done a face cam. So instead I did subtitles and various screenshots and promo art from the game. I edited this quickly in WMM since this computer doesn’t have Vegas, and it’s only audio anyways.

Limbo is a 2010 indie 2D platformer available on XBLA, Steam, and PSN. Won many awards and it’s one of my favs. For sure worth checking out. It’s known for it’s greyscale, heavy atmosphere, and the gruesome nature in the game (especially in the kid’s deaths…which you’ll see A LOT, as we describe). My mic died partway through, so let’s all have a moment of remembering my first headset.

We played other games too, but this leads into Amnesia, our best work because we have face cam starting from the cellar archives (ie “the water part” where it’s me vs Mr. Water Monster)

NOTE: This part features us switching characters. I’m P-Body this time, and Possk is Atlas.
And I also uploaded this video with really shitty editing before this one. This is (hopefully) the good version with all the crap edited out.

SO, WE WOULD’VE BEEN ABLE TO SHOW THE ENDING, BUT SOME SHIT HAPPENED!

This may be the last video for Portal 2 for a long time. When Possk was recording our voices, the audio buggered up badly. The audio file was SO QUIET I had to bump it up about 30 db. Throughout the recording, audio levels within the recording fluctuated to the point where it just EXPLODED and made us far too muffled to understand. I’m surprised I was able to salvage this much. As far as I know, I can’t fix this through volume control or other editing tools at my disposal. We might revisit the game later starting from the puzzle we left off on, but I don’t know what kind of “quality commentary” we’ll get.

Oh, and part of my recording decided not to record game audio. Not that disasterous at least.

This isn’t much, but I hate Cenobia enough to find joy in this :3.

I was playing the game through my Dazzle to test some recording qualities for my next GMV (I assure you, this won’t be the quality I choose) and then when doing the time trials I started to notice Cenobia glitches out consistently if you make him wade in the shallow puddles, he often gets stuck and won’t move unless you do.

This is the PS3 version btw. I haven’t noticed this on the PS2, but the OTHER video here is with the PS2 and it’s a little more…disturbing? 0-0

Raggedstar x Chair is a more fascinating couple than Bambi x Kovu and other shoehorned slash couples. Just say- *shot*

Took a lot slower with this one because I wanted to wait until we had another playthrough. But since Youtube held an amnesty or something with strikes, my account is clean and I can upload videos over 15 minutes (wish they did that when I was uploading my Journey stuff). Ginga videos are still down, so I guess NAS still has something up their butt.

Possk is finished her week of hell with AP exams, so we might have another playthrough soon (and this increased limit makes things easier)

Oh sod it, let’s just put more gaming videos here. Not like I have the energy to make AMVs right now anyways.

Bad news is that I can’t think of any more entertaining games to make a fail reel out of.

Good news is that Possk and I both fail at Portal 2 and are entertaining enough to make videos. Since the playthrough has a whole lot of nothing (neither of us have played the co-op campaign, so we got stuck frequently) I decided to put it here as a highlights/fail reel sort of thing so it doesn’t drag on. I saved only the good bits.

This is only half of a full play session, and we did two of them (and we’re not even finished the game yet) SO EXPECT MORE OF THESE. The second bit is less than 5 minutes because I can’t upload things longer than 15 minutes (blame Nihon Ad Systems for that).
