Well Wolf’s Rain fans, Raggedstar is BACK! After a long break and agonizing ripping, Raggedstar made her first Wolf’s Rain AMV since June 2006.
This is the product of my ripper. The quality looks worse than I thought 0-0 (doesn’t look too bad, doesn’t it?). My cousin has an idea, so I’ll try that before moving on.
Anyways, this AMV turned out nicely. Had my doubts in the beginning, but it looks pretty good. This is kind of a “We Wanted All” kind of AMV, going through the tragedies and stuff. I also threw in some Cher x Hubb stuff. Hubb has to be the must under-rated character in the show *glares at people*.
Leto, you better frickin’ thank me for all this Toboe stuff 0_0.

Anyways, backstory here. This is what we call “fun homework”. For those fimiliar with my 2nd AMV called Crawling In The Dark (done to Balto) it was done for school. Well, this one is too (except this is for university instead of highschool). I’m supposed to analyze a song or poem in a creative fashion. Nightwish has some VERY deep lyrics, so hell, might as well do it to a song who’s meaning is rather debatable, namely Bless The Child. My interpretation? The song is about someone’s loss of innocence and childhood. All those years you dream of growing up, but when you are grown, you pretty much notice it’s a crapheap. There’s no going back and your pretend world has vanished. This is a lot like how I felt after my 18th birthday (except for the fact that I had no childhood), so it was apropriate for me to do this song. Why ADGTH and Balto? Those were my favourite childhood movies, adding to the meaning of the song. I was going to change a lot of things in this, but ya, I have to do a write-up and it’s all due this week 0-0. This took me pretty much 2 weeks to create, plus 4 days of downtime due to WMM being WMM, PLUS add on about a week where I’m so sick I can barely do anything to add onto it.
I do warn you that the AMV is rather…erm…blinky. Yes, I did butcher the blinks a bit. Youtube is being a moron as always and has put it a bit on a lagging spree and turning some sexy scenes into not-so-sexy scenes (Steele falling off the cliff is a good example. That looked PERFECT on my computer). Also, don’t ask about why the Balto clips are a bit choppy at times. Don’t know why. And congrats ROI, you have now been my longest AMV, as well as the largest in size (a bit over 51 MB. Lifeless is 2nd at 49 MB).

You waited for it, now you have it! Now that the blasted WMM is working, I bring you the project I’ve been working on for the last month or so. Sorry about the widescreen to fullscreen. I couldn’t get ADGTH footage to go to widescreen. It might not be the best AMV I made, but hey, parts of it are real sexy. It’s scary no one did this song to ADGTH yet. It’s something that could make it on the soundtrack. It says how heaven isn’t really heaven when you look back at all you left behind. This is kind of a Charlie tribute (well, kind of hard to NOT make a Charlie tribute). I sent Possk Jak and Daxter and Jak 2 last year, and she sent me a package with some random stuff since my birthday is in about 2 weeks. I…have nothing else to say except how she’s currently getting her ass kicked in Jak 2 and she hasn’t even started looking for seal pieces yet lol :3. Pray for her.
Just finishing up the other video and added a few more things (mostly things I forgot). When I’m not at school I’m usually at work, so other than my pre-order of Skyward Sword, I won’t be getting anything else interesting.
There isn’t really much focus in this video. This and the next one is mostly wrapping up some new stuff and some stuff I forgot to show throughout the videos. Oh, and stuff on my walls. STUFF EVERYWHERE!
There was a dispute between AMV makers Raggedstar and xPosskx over superiority. Raggedstar thought Possk was superior and vise-versa (oh don’t worry, Shado will get her video eventually). And so, Raggedstar made a dick move of a plan she created after wandering the internet. The deal was made and the fight would be at an end…through a battle of POKEMON!. If Raggedstar’s “secret weapon” among her team (lovingly named “The Spartans”. There is a 300 joke here somewhere but I can’t put my finger on it) could be thwarted, then she would be the superior AMV maker. If the “secret weapon” does as it should, then Possk would be superior. This may seem rather confusing but just accept it (wouldn’t even come to this if Possk was a good girl and claimed her rightful superiority in the first place). Who would win?

Sorry about the quality. I had to use a camera (my capture card won’t work on my DS) and because of the noise I had to do it near the laundry room so people wouldn’t complain. It’s not too bad at least. Thankfully my DS is black so it blended with the dark room.

IT’S MY 5TH YEAR AMV ANIVERSARY! What better way to celebrate my 5 years of inferiority than a fail reel of a fail game?
No, I’m not taking a shot at Spyro 1 itself (though it is my least favourite of the original trilogy). However, the Japanese version (NTSC-J) is…awful. It’s not a simple dub of the text and audio. I outlined a few of them in my blog entry (here). I honestly can’t play this version more than 30 minutes or so because it’s just so frustrating and nauseating for the camera to get stuck all the time and me having to rotate it. At least the camera in the normal version is functional.
I had this project file sitting on my hard drive since November 2009, so I quickly did some commentary today. I have no more ideas for fail reels, so that’s it for now. I was planning a KH Sephiroth fail reel, but it was too depressing and repetitive. FF7 Sephy is too difficult to record since if you die, the game resets and you have to go back to the last save point…which is before a Jenova fight and Bizzaro Sephiroth. You have to beat them before you can fight Safer Sephiroth.
I also disabled annotations because people complained and I can’t moderate all the time.
-I started recording at Peacekeepers because I wasn’t intending to create a fail reel at all. All you missed was my epic death in the homeworld because the camera wouldn’t turn around towards shore. -Spyro 2’s subtitle was named “Tondemo Tours”. It suffers from many of the same faults that this game does -Spyro 3 never went to Japan, yet Enter The Dragonfly did. -Glitch learned from yearofthe’s video outlining how to get that key without chasing the first airplane thief.
OMG I HAZ A BLOG! This blog will be used to discuss a few things. It will include (but not limited to) reviews (games, movies, POSSIBLY AMVS, etc), uncovering some project concepts and updates of future AMVs, rants (of assorted bitchery), a very special article series :3, and of course is the HQ of the Foundation Of Raggedstar Inferiority (FORI). Lots of fun, right?
I’m open to those that want to give some feedback, ideas, help in set up, or collaberate with some articles.
As for TCT, bug Possk. I only have about 10-13 seconds to go on my last part. And to think this was supposed to be uploaded in March by our guesses.
And on a more serious note, WLMM sucks. It just sucks so hard. It’s clunky, pain in the ass layout, dumbed down to the point where it hardly functions as an effective (even amateur) video editor, and dropped so many necessary features. Ugh, fuck it. At least WMM could pull off some decent stuff.
This video was originally done for my new(ish) movies, but I also put in two other things in. One I got not too long after I did the other video, and the other is a recent development I want to bitch about (and because by tomorrow morning, there is a good chance it’ll be gone. You’ll see why *facepalm*).
